  1. There are many reasons why I love the film Vertigo: I love the gorgeous cinematography capturing the great city of San Francisco, the labyrinthine plot with its starting twists and turns, yet what I love the most of about Vertigo is its critique of male desire. Our hero in the film falls for a woman that is pure fantasy. Even when he gets the real girl, he finds he must mold her to his fantasy, he does not want the real women that are around him. He wants the romantic invention he’s been duped into believing. He wants the lie.
